Terms & Conditions

By submitting an enrollment/booking form on this website, you hereby agree to the terms & conditions detailed on this page.

1. Payment & Booking

1.1 Once your application has been provisionally accepted by International TEFL Organization you will be asked to pay a course fee, which is non-refundable.

1.2 If for any reason you need to cancel your place on a course after making payment, International TEFL Organization cannot provide any refunds under any circumstances whatsoever. We will, however, be happy to extend your completion time from 3 months to up to 24 months if required.

1.3 No refund will be issued to any student who is expelled from an TEFL course, or who fails to complete the course, under any circumstances whatsoever.

1.4 The International TEFL Organization will not be held responsible for compensating or reimbursing any travel or accommodation costs, including flights and all other related, and non-related expenses, under any circumstances whatsoever.

1.5 All students are subject to the instructions of the tutor. The tutor’s decision is final.

1.6 We may offer discounted rates & promotions, such as buddy discounts, at certain times of the year to boost our enrollments. This means there may be other students on your course who paid less than you. We cannot accept requests for reimbursements because you may have missed a promotion, or other student(s) paid less than you for the same package. No exceptions will be made under any circumstances.

1.7 No refund will be given who is unable to find a teaching job after completing our TEFL course. Some 95% of our graduates who travelled overseas seeking a teaching job have been successful.

1.8 All students must complete the TEFL online course within 6 months of the booking date. Students may request an extension of time, which will be awarded at the tutor's discretion.

2. Disclaimer

2.1 Your use of our service is at your own risk. Neither International TEFL Organization, nor any of its subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, agents, representatives or licensees shall be liable to you or anyone else for any loss or injury or any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive or similar damages arising out of your access or use of, or your inability to access or use, the service and the sites and the information available on the service and the sites or arising out of any action taken in response to or as a result of any information available on the service and the sites. You hereby waive any and all claims against International TEFL Organization and its subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, agents, representatives and licensees arising out of your use of the service and the sites and the information available thereon.

2.2 We've tried to make the information on this website as accurate as possible, but it is provided 'as is' and we accept no responsibility for any loss, injury or inconvenience sustained by anyone resulting from this information. You should verify critical information (like visas, health, and safety, customs and transportation) with the relevant authorities before you travel to any country.

2.3 All information on this website is subject to change without notice. Monthly earnings, rent, accommodation, living costs etc will depend on your host school, location, hours worked and economic conditions and other factors outwith our control. You cannot hold us liable in any way for these changes.

2.4 You are responsible for arranging adequate travel and medical insurance cover for the duration any travel overseas.

3. Job Placements

3.1 Our approved TEFL certificates are accepted throughout the world by reputable organisations who employ English Language teachers. This means that you will most likely secure a teaching job before, or shortly after, you complete your TEFL course. We may introduce you to our Job Placement agents and employers.

3.2 Please remember that all job placements are subject to an interview by the prospective employer. Due to the high number of sub-standard applications ESL employers now receive by email we strongly recommend that you call first to arrange a meeting, rather than applying by email, to be sure of securing an interview.

3.3 We do not arrange job placements on your behalf but will provide full support advice and contacts to assist you in finding work.

4. Privacy Policy

4.1 International TEFL Organization respects your privacy. Any personal information you provide to us including and similar to your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address will not be released, sold, or rented to any entities or individuals outside of eTEFL.

4.2 External Sites. ITO is not responsible for the content of external internet sites. You are advised to read the privacy policy of external sites before disclosing any personal information.

4.3 Cookies. A "cookie" is a small data text file that is placed in your browser and allows ITO to recognize you each time you visit this site. Cookies themselves do not contain any personal information, and International TEFL Organization does not use cookies to collect personal information. Cookies may also be used by 3rd party content providers such as news feeds.

4.4 Permission. By signing up for our information pack you agree to receive no more than 3 x emails per week from us. You may opt-out of our database at any time.

5. Acceptance of Terms & Grades

5.1 By submitting an online application for one of our TEFL programs, you hereby agree and accept these terms & conditions. If you do not wish to accept these terms, you should not apply. These terms are non-negotiable.

5.2 Each graduate will be given a grade for their participation in the TEFL course. The grades are based on theory, grammar assignments, lesson planning etc. The cumulative score will determine your final grade.

5.3 You must achieve an overall pass grade of at least 70%. No refund or compensation will be provided in this case. Failed students will be given the opportunity to re-take the course and exams. Every effort is made to assist students to ensure you pass the course.

6. Complaints

6.1 Any complaints should be sent to us by email within 30 days of completing your TEFL course and we will respond within 1 business day by email. We aim for 100% customer satisfaction and you are assured that your complaint will be dealt with swiftly by senior management.

6.2 We welcome customer feedback and constructive criticism. However, we will not allow misinformation, gossip, hearsay, lies or defamation about our organisation and/or staff to be posted online in any forum, blog, website or other media. We will commence full legal and/or criminal proceedings for defamation, libel & slander against any individual, group or company who undertakes such action.

7. Certification

7.1 Your TEFL certificate is internationally recognized and our accredited TEFL course meets the recommended certification criteria set out by the British Council.

7.2 Please note a small number of ESL employers run their own in-house TEFL course and may not accept any other TEFL certificate other than their own. Our advice is to look elsewhere.

7.3 We continue to receive reports of unscrupulous ESL employers and TEFL companies making false claims about our TEFL certification. In most cases, this is an attempt to sell you an additional TEFL course for which they receive a commission or payback. Graduates are advised to stay clear of anyone who attempts to disparage our organization and report such action to us. We will commence full legal action against those responsible as we have done so successfully in the past.

8. Code of Conduct

8.1 International TEFL Organization expects all students to act professionally at all times and to abstain from destructive, distracting, illegal or disrespectful behavior when teaching Engish overseas.

9. Certification

9.1 This TEFL/TESOL program is certified to meet international standards. Our TEFL/TESOL courses are accredited and moderated by our appointed quality control managers, as well as other bodies such as QDLQC, OTTSA, ACCET depending on the course location. The TKT certificate is awarded separately by Cambridge ESOL, part of the University of Cambridge.

9.2 Exam fees are payable directly to the approved Cambridge exam centre and are not collected by ITO.
