Damian is from London, England and has lived on Koh Samui, Thailand for over 10 years. He has extensive teaching experience in Thai government schools. Damian has been our head TEFL trainer since 2006 and we're very proud of his 98% student satisfaction record. Damian spends most of his free time with his family at his home in the peaceful, south-west part of the Island.
Sophie, from Manchester, England, has been living in the Gulf of Thailand on the beautiful island of Koh Phangan since 2012, and has gained the experience and passion for both working and living in this amazing country. Since joining the team, Sophie has observed and trained on the courses in Bangkok, Koh Samui and Koh Phangan and enjoys promoting the Mai Pen Rai (no worries) lifestyle to Thailand newbies. Outside of work Sophie enjoys scuba diving and socialising with anyone willing to listen to her!
Jane is from Leeds, UK and has been our General Manager since 2009. Jane is based on Koh Samui, Thailand and spends most of her time lying on tropical beaches! But we have heard she does actually work sometimes too! Jane had taught in Thailand since 2010. She now manages to continue working while looking after two young kids.
Gaby, from Cape Town, South Africa, joined the team in August 2013. Having lived in England, Portugal and South Africa, her travel bug brought her to Thailand in October 2012. Gaby is a surfing fanatic, with many years spent as a qualified Surf instructor, and passionate about travelling and exploring new cultures. She now lives and works remotely in Lisbon, Portugal.
"Explore new cultures, make new international friends, learn a new language, improve your CV/Resume, live and work in exotic locations, travel the globe, give something back to the world, make a positive difference to other people's lives"

You're Helping an Awesome Cause!
Every year, thousands of North Koreans risk their lives to escape political and economic oppression. Even if they make it to China, they face grave danger because the Chinese government arrests and forcibly repatriates North Korean refugees. If sent back, they undergo interrogation and are at risk of extremely harsh punishments including torture, forced labor, forced abortions, and internment in a political prison camp. From January 2017, the International TEFL Organization will donate 5% of your course fees to help rescue and support North Korean refugees.
Liberty in North Korea is a certified & trusted 501(c) (3) non-profit organization committed to financial transparency and responsible stewardship. They are a non-political, non-governmental organization and rely solely on donations to rescue and support North Korean refugees.
